The Pinhead

The new Pinhead series of rods from Seeker are quite interesting, excellent fishing high value packed rods. They
feature our long time standard actions and models, from the days of Truline and Sabre, made from fiberglass. If
you liked rods like the Ulua, SD8 or 36, you'll foam over these guys. All the rods are "deckhand" style, corktape
wraps, no reel seat, longer length casting oriented rods. The deckhand rods have been a long term West Coast
favorite for folks tossing bait and iron long distances. Typically a guy will place the reel (using the reel clamp, or
Cork Puppy) at a distance corresponding the the length of one's forearm. Simply measure from the rod butt, lining
up your elbow there and secure the reel at the point of your hand or wrist. Of course there's room for variance, but
that's the typical convention on this type of rod. This style of long rod provides some serious casting distance,
that's their strength. Actions are a bit parabolic, you can really load up the pressure and cast well.

One point, that does not need being said, but should be remembered, SEEKER RODS ARE MADE HERE IN
CALIFORNIA, USA. THEY ARE NOT AN IMPORT, THEY ARE PRODUCED BY FOLKS THAT FLAT OUT
KNOW THEIR CRAFT - AND HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR DECADES.
The rods are "old school" the performance
is timeless and as it should be for rods of this type and style. The unique thing with the Pinhead Series is that they
are priced aggressively, priced so that anyone can get into better grade gear without sacrificing quality or integrity
of construction.
